P8 - The New Service Pistol Of The German Armed Forces

The equipment of the German Armed Forces must at all times be absolutely dependable, even under extreme conditions of deployment. With the adoption of the new Heckler & Koch P8 Pistol the German Bundeswehr has made a definite decision, a decision for highest reliability, performance and safety.

Compared to the HK USP the P8 features the safety/decocking lever on the left side of the grip with the settings "F" = fire (top) and "S" = safe (bottom). Pressing the safety/decocking lever all the way down safely uncocks the hammer. Releasing the pressure on the lever automatically moves the lever back to "S" safe. At option the P8 is also available as a Combat-Version without "safe" and "fire" settings and with decocking only.

Design Characteristics

+ Patented Recoil Buffering System
Both, the impulse of the rearward traveling barrel and slide, are effectively buffered, thus eliminating the direct transmission of recoil forces to the pistol's frame and the shooter's hand.

+ Polymer Frame With Non-Corrosive Steel Reinforcements
For the reduction of weight and the increase of the pistol's durability the frame is made of high-quality, fiber-reinforced polymer which is additionally stiffened by stainless steel inserts at all areas which are subject to stress or friction.

+ Transparent Plastic Magazine With Steel Reinforcements
The transparent magazines have capacity of 15 rounds and permit the shooter an immediate visual inspection of the magazine's loading condition

+ Ambidextrous Magazine Release

+ Single And Double Action Trigger

+ Automatic Firing Pin And Hammer Safety

+ Cold Forged Barrel With Polygonal Profile

+ Improved Browning Type Locking Mechanism
